Microchip Expands 8-bit MCU Portfolio

Microchip Technology has expanded its 8-bit microcontroller portfolio with the introduction of several new PIC and AVR MCU families. The new devices target cost-sensitive applications requiring low power consumption and high integration.

The PIC16F15xx series features enhanced core performance, larger memory options, and improved peripheral integration. These MCUs are ideal for applications such as consumer electronics, industrial control, and automotive accessories.

Microchip has also updated their AVR DA series with additional analog features, including enhanced ADC resolution and improved op-amps. The new devices maintain backward compatibility with existing AVR products, simplifying design migration.

To support the new MCUs, Microchip has updated their MPLAB X development environment and released new code examples and application notes. The company continues to invest in toolchain improvements to reduce development time.
