Texas Instruments Introduces High-Precision Temperature Sensor

Texas Instruments has launched the TMP117, a high-precision digital temperature sensor offering industry-leading accuracy for industrial and medical applications. The sensor achieves ±0.05°C accuracy over a wide temperature range.

Featuring a 16-bit ADC, the TMP117 provides precise temperature measurements from -40°C to +125°C. It supports both I2C and SPI interfaces, making it compatible with a wide range of microcontrollers and embedded systems.

The sensor’s low power consumption (as low as 10µA) makes it suitable for battery-powered applications. It includes built-in alert functions that can trigger interrupts when temperature thresholds are exceeded, enabling real-time monitoring and control.

Typical applications include environmental monitoring, industrial process control, medical devices, and consumer electronics. The TMP117 is available in a compact 6-pin SOT563 package, ideal for space-constrained designs.
